Saturday 21st June: Summer of Love

Charlotte Burton and Catherine Bartholomew invite you to shimmy our way back in time to the Summer of Love! Step into the spirit of the 1960s with two groovy workshops followed by an afternoon Hafla that celebrates peace, love and flower power.

10:30am-11:30am: Suhair Zaki Style workshop with Catherine
Learn some snazzy combinations exploring the style of one of the iconic Egyptian dancers of the 1960’s and 1970’s, Suhair Zaki.

12pm-1pm: Veil Poi workshop with Charlotte
Learn technique for veil poi and make psychedelic colours fly around you as you dance!

2:30pm-4:30pm: Summer of Love Hafla
A relaxed and sociable performance showcase with a 1960’s theme. Come and show us what you’ve been working on or sit back and enjoy the show. Everyone is welcome!

There are performance slots available for groups and soloists who are welcome to put something related to the theme together or just share anything they have been working on. We love to see a variety!

When: Saturday 21st June 2025
Doors open: 10:15am for the workshops, 2pm for the Hafla
Where: The Oast, Granary Cl, Rainham, Gillingham ME8 7SG
How much: £30 for the whole day, £6 for Hafla only.

Bellydance Buffet is a regular event in Medway to celebrate the local bellydance community and bring people together. It’s mission is to provide a welcoming and friendly space for people to socialise, share their passion for dance and have some fun! Every buffet is a bit different, using a variety of venues and having fresh themes and concepts to look forward to.
